the seven physical chakras showing how to unlock the physical and spiritual

New Chakra Healing: Activate Your 32 Energy Centers (Llewellyn's Whole Life Series) ,
Cyndi Dale. This describes the physical chakra system
and methods of healing based on input from shamans around the world. The
shamanic descriptions are the same as taught by the three Eastern traditions,
Hinduism, Taoism and Buddhism without the physical exercises of Yoga.
Cindi adds descriptions of 5 minor physical chakras and also discusses
some very powerful chakras that exist only in the energy realm.

Wheels of Life: A User's Guide to the Chakra System (Llewellyn's New Age Series) ,
Anodea Judith, Ph.D,. This describes the physical system
of seven chakras based on the teachings of Yoga, Hinduism, Taoism and
Buddhism. This is a very popular book that is currently in its second
edition after 17 printings of the 1987 edition.

Theories of the Chakras: Bridge to Higher Consciousness (Quest Books) , Hiroshi
Motoyama. From a review in Amazon: "This book attempts
to reconcile the two major eastern approaches to non-western medicine,
the chakra system of Indian and the meridian system of China and Japan.
The author, a research in the area of TCM and a yogi, reviews different
ways the chakras are described of the chakras and develops relationships
between these system. He presents his own approach to opening the chakras

The Yoga Tradition: Its History, Literature, Philosophy and Practice ,
Georg Feuerstein, Ph.D. This is a scholarly reference
book that covers the history of Yoga. It describes the major traditional
forms of Yoga and includes lots of very old pictures and text.

Why God Won't Go Away: Brain Science and the Biology of Belief , Andrew Newberg, M.D. This book
was written by two professors at the University of Pennslyvania. It is
about the new field of neurotheology, which is the study of brain science
and the biology of belief. This is an excellent book for science oriented
readers who want to know things like why humans need a God and what happens
in the brain when meditation achieves enlightenment. This book prompted
a recent article in Time Magazine.

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying: The Spiritual Classic & International Bestseller; Revised and Updated Edition , Sogyal Rinpoche.
The first few chapters of this book answer many questions about the goals
and methods of meditation and the journey of your spirit before, during
and after visiting the physical world.

Chakras: A Monograph ,
C.W. Leadbeater. The original Western authority
pulled together many sources from around the world and presented the basics
of Chakra knowledge to the West. There has been a lot of evolution since
this book as more Eastern literature has been translated and more people
in the West have reported their experiences, but this is the basic text
referenced by most bibliographies today.

Mantra: Sacred Words of Power , Thomas Ashley-Farrand.
Cassettes and accompanying study guide. What mantras are and how they
change you and your karma. The history and many types of mantra are described
supported by a clear recording of the sounds repeated several times. The
author is an acknowledged expert in the use of Hindu and Buddist mantras.

This is a FAQ book – frequently asked questions and the guru’s
answers – about spirituality, yoga and religion, choosing a teacher,

path. It is easy to read and the type of book you can open to any page
and find revelations.

This is the definitive and personal history of the man who introduced
Eastern spirituality to the United States. This book, first published
